Abstract
- Carbon is often used as a reactant to realize the conversion of CO<subscript>2</subscript> in metallurgy, but it additionally increases carbon emissions. This paper studies the reaction process and decomposition rate of CO<subscript>2</subscript> in molten iron. It is found that the decomposition rate of CO<subscript>2</subscript> is 84.35 pct in oxygen-saturated molten iron. At the same time, aiming at the reduction of deoxidized product FeO, a direct-current electrolysis method of steel–slag is proposed, which can realize the carbon-free deoxidization of CO<subscript>2</subscript> to produce CO.
