Abstract

(Bloomberg) -- Homelessness in Los Angeles County rose to the highest level on record, soaring 9% from 2022 with an estimated 75,518 people living on the streets despite growing efforts to tackle the crisis. "I'm worried that next year the count might be even larger because we do not have a way of preventing homelessness", LA Mayor Karen Bass said at a press conference Thursday where the data was released. Voters and their elected representatives have adopted numerous measures to tackle homelessness, including county and city bond issues. [Extracted from the article]
