Abstract
- Joining two materials is still one of the challenges faced in the manufacturing process. In the same context, joining dissimilar materials is more complicated. Friction welding is a new technology using heat-generating for friction between two moving parts to soften the material and mix the soft part to join or use a third moving body (rotational tool) to generate heat. The friction welding used in Automotive, space, and work set an industry, etc. This paper will review the basic concept of the friction welding process (friction stir welding, rotary friction welding, and finally crush welding) for dissimilar materials.
