Assessment criteria and methods of an agile-compliant performance appraisal.

Several organizations have adopted Agile software development methods without reforming their performance appraisal. An Agile-compliant performance appraisal should be reformed and aligned to Agile values, principles, and practices. However, there is a paucity of empirical studies that focus on an Agile-compliant performance appraisal. Even though literature indicates several improvements towards an Agile-compliant performance appraisal, we strongly believe that there are more assessment criteria need to be explored through intensive literature. Suitable assessment methods for an Agile-compliant performance appraisal also need to be discovered. Therefore, this study gathered quantitative data through online survey involving 31 Agile practitioners based in Malaysia, Jordan, and New Zealand. The purpose of survey is to explore, affirm and confirm the assessment criteria and methods of an Agile-compliant performance appraisal. This paper presents the assessment criteria and methods of an Agile-compliant performance appraisal that might be considered by management in reforming the effective an Agile-compliant performance appraisal.
