Abstract
- The article presents the discussion on growing significance of Methanol in the chemical industry and the need for sustainable production. Topics include Methanol serving as a foundational chemical for intermediate products such as formaldehyde, acetic acid, silicone, and olefins in the chemical industry; and current methods of production using gas and coal continue, the greenhouse gas emissions from methanol production would increase from the current 0.3 gigatons.
