Abstract
- In the terminal vascular bed of the renal fibrous capsule of men and dogs two different forms of capillaries are found. According to their arrangement, they are designated as net- and arc-capillaries. Five different types of arc-capillaries can be distinguished (Fig. 6). Both net- and arc-capillaries are alike in their wall structure and diameter. It should be emphasized that the arc-capillaries must be differentiated from the real arteriovenous anastomoses. It is pointed out that a certain confusion exists in the terminology used to analyze and describe the small blood vessels—especially in regard to arterio-venous anastomoses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
