Abstract

Two groups of college students were exposed to two sets of standardized stimuli which were alike in certain temporal and spatial differentiations. A series of cognitive-affective questions were asked of these Ss concerning their recognition of the critical temporal relations governing the interperson (Study I) and interlight (Study II) activities which they viewed and concerning their personal emotional reactions to these relations and activities. The most noteworthy outcome of this procedure was the consistent strong simple finding of agreement among Ss that the faster people danced or dots jumped about, the better the viewer liked it and the more favorably he evaluated it.
