Abstract

Batch reactor is important in process industry and in batch process to produce high quality products for producing various chemicals in batch processes. It is a process that needs precise temperature control. A fast and speedy control action is always desirable for any type of processes with a consideration that the control logic must be less bulky. In this paper, split range control algorithm is designed along with Proportional Integral controller to achieve good steady state response. The control is simulated for batch scale reactor model and implemented in lab scale batch reactor for real time. This algorithm is used in cases where there is two different mode of control to temperature with no physical interface between two modes. The case given below has heater and a coolant valve.
