Abstract

Zan Boag: In your book Frames of Mind: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences, you proposed the idea that we all possess different types of intelligences, that the majority of us have a range of these abilities or intelligences to some degree. And that could be artistic intelligence, it could be kinaesthetic intelligence, it could be logical… If you want to develop the specific intelligence, you clearly ought to work on that particular intelligence. Just on ChatGPT, do you think perhaps because this type of artificial intelligence is able to do certain functions as well or better than we might do them, do you think that might mean that other types of intelligences may rise in prominence because they're things that cannot be done by artificial intelligence? To begin with we've talked about pluralisation of intelligence, but when you talk about ethics, morality, good work, good citizenship, these are not things that correlate with intellect.
