Abstract

Atresia of the pulmonary valve with intact ventricular septum is a rare congenital anomaly with extremely poor prognosis. Patients with this malformation usually die within the first few weeks of life. Atresia of the pulmonary valve with intact ventricular septum is reported in a woman who lived to be 21 years of age, and who died because of a generalized oozing of blood following an otherwise successful surgical repair.
