Abstract
- This research paper gives out the implementation of boost (step-up) converter and Z-source Inverter (ZSI) for solar Photo-Voltaic (PV) applications through Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) control. Present energy demand mainly depends on renewable energy sources (RES). The Solar energy is best and the acceptable solution for increasing energy demand. To increase the dc voltage from the solar array, the boost converter is connected between the solar PV array and the Z-source Inverter (ZSI). The ZSI can be responsible to enhance the dc output voltage from the boost converter that can be given to load. MPPT algorithm is utilized for the generation of duty cycle and the triggering pulse for the boost (step-up) converter. The Simple Boost (SB) PWM control algorithm is used for the ZSI. The modelling and simulation of the boost converter and ZSI are presented. The simulation results are obtained by considering the 1Soltech 1STH-215-P solar array model in Matlab and simulation results are validated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
