The stability of transparent solid soap containing ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera L. leaves with concentration variation of stearic acid.

Abstract
- Indonesia has biodiversity that have beneficial for health. One of its potentials plants is, Moringa oleifera L. The active compound of Moringa oleifera L. leaf extract which has antibacterial properties is quercetin that including in flavonol compounds. The Purpose this study is to determine the suitable concentration of stearic acid that maintain the stability of transparent solid soap. The soap was made by using stearic acid in variation concentration and containing the ethanol extract of Moringa oleifera L leaves as an active ingredient. The stability test was done by using cycling test method that consists of six cycles. The evaluation of the preparation including organoleptic observation, measuring pH, hardness and height of the foam. The results showed that the color of FI, FII and FIII have been changed, the pH of FII was decreased in 5th cycle, but the consistency, height of foam, and the hardness were meet the requirement with SNI. Hardness test, height foam of all preparations fulfills SNI. This research will be useful, as a scientific basis for the further research and clinical trials in the design of new cosmetic preparations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
