Abstract
- The article discusses pre-drill predictions of basin-fill strata that have yet to be achieved as of March 2023. Topics covered include the complex factors that control stacking patterns and spatial distribution of strata, and the unlikelihood of published sea-level curves to be sufficiently accurate models of eustatic sea-level history. Also noted is the need to acquire sufficient data to reduce uncertainty when making predictions.
