Abstract
- Lithium-ion batteries are being developed and considered as future storage energy systems for any application on electronics devices, renewable energy systems, and electric vehicles. The battery pack unbalanced is one of the main crucial problems and hence decreases battery capacity rapidly. These problems are caused by the difference in an internal resistance battery cell, battery capacity, and battery connectivity problems. To increase the lifetime of the battery pack, the battery cells should be frequently equalized to keeps up the difference between the cells as small as possible. This study compares and evaluates a passive balancing system developed in Smart BMS LiFePO<subscript>4</subscript> 12Volt, to select an appropriate balancing scheme addressing battery efficiency and balancing speed for an off-grid photovoltaic system. The consequences of the software of four 12Volt LiFePO<subscript>4</subscript> Smart BMS with distinct resistor values withinside the balancing system show that there may be a giant distinction among the balancing performances that occur. BMS with huge resistors has the quickest time in balancing the battery this is being charged or discharged. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
