Abstract

This work proposes a study of the functionalization of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) for application in POF biosensors. Biosensors adopt innovative technology based on the functionalization of gold nanoparticles based on the LSPR (Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance) phenomenon, which consists of the variation of the LSPR resonance peak, depending on the variation of the refractive index. The variation in the LSPR resonance peak is caused by the immunocapture of bacteria that attach to AuNPs, deposited and functionalized on the fiber surface. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
