The present paper relates to a remotely detachable fiber optic communication coupler device that is designed to serve underwater. The device has a magnetic lock and release mechanism, which allow mating the optical couplers to be joined for the transfer of information between electronic devices, while been able to physically release such links remotely in submarine environments.
