Gear Audio-Technica AT-LP2022 The Japanese company Audio-Technica chose to celebrate its 60th anniversary by doing something totally sober and rational: releasing a transparent record player. Schiit is a maker of high-quality amplifiers, headphone amps, and digital audio interfaces for computers. At 21.5 by 15 by 7 inches, it's imposing enough to be a conversation piece, but all talking stops once the Monolith's 150- watt amplifier starts cranking crystalline sound through its trio of 3.5-inch midrange speakers and pair of 6-inch woofers (all made by Danish audio powerhouse Scan-Speak).
