Abstract
- The article discusses the efforts by Chinese-owned social media app TikTok to avoid a ban. Republican Mike Gallagher and Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi sponsored a bill seeking to ban the app on the suspicion that the Chinese Communist Party could use TikTok to track and manipulate Americans. Also mentioned are the reassurance made by Michael Beckerman of Tiktok that users have nothing to worry about and measures being taken by Tiktok to keep operating in the U.S.
