Abstract

This work is devoted to the study of the influence of light gas injection on the stability of the boundary layer on the plate at Mach number M = 5.4. The boundary layer stability is calculated within the framework of the linear stability theory. Boundary layer equations in self-similar coordinates and the Fluent program from the Ansys package are used to calculate laminar boundary layers. Gas injection is simulated from the plate surface. It is shown that the injection of light gas leads to the stabilization of second mode disturbances. First mode disturbances are destabilized in the injection region and stabilized downstream of the injection region. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
