Abstract
- The lowering of meat production will positively effect greenhouse gas emissions, and to replace protein intake from meat, mushrooms may provide a good alternative. The changing world with effects of climate change is becoming more and more visible, also for sustaining world's population, and warrants a closer look into the potential that is held by microbes. A new interference between the hedgehog mushroom and the host endophyte community was shown by Zhang et al. (this issue) relating to interference with potentially plant growth promoting microbes.
