Abstract

Poverty and food insecurity are problems experienced by many countries, including Indonesia. These two problems are contained in the SDGs. This article aims to find out the characteristic variables that affect poverty and food insecurity in Indonesia. The methods used are gini gain, information gain, and mean decrease gini. The results show that there is a similarity of the resulting variables importance between the gini gain and the information gain. For characteristic variables that use the mean decrease gini, predictor variables with many categories tend to rank at the top for measuring variable importance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
