Abstract

The article reports that a recent report by the Gartner group suggests that over 3.3. million jobs worth $136 billion would migrate from the U.S. to low wage countries in the next decade. The special issue on Offshoring of Service and Knowledge Work aims to publish a set of papers that would shed greater insights into the operational implications of the current trends in offshoring. These implications begin with decisions about what to offshore and span to strategic concerns such as ownership versus outsourcing and tactical concerns such as scheduling and coordinating.
