Abstract
- This article substantiates a new approach to development of standards regarding assessment of metal crack resistance as exemplified by certain methods of metal identification in terms of operational reliability. It is proposed to substitute the index of classical impact toughness in quality certificate with two parameters: specific crushing energy and coefficient of dynamic viscosity, which are determined by calculations based on results of tensile failure tests of smooth specimens (State Standard GOST 1497–84, GOST 10006–80).
