Abstract
- This editorial refers to 'Cannabis, cocaine, methamphetamine, and opiates increase the risk of incident atrial fibrillation', by A.L. Lin I et al i . https://doi.org/10.1093/eurheartj/ehac558. The optimal management of patients with drug use and the long-term effects of these substances on the heart and AF recurrences are still unclear. It is important for future research to examine and understand the impact of drugs on AF, particularly in the light of drug policy reform and legalisation. Questions remain as to what dose of drug would promote AF onset and how much AF would result from an isolated exposure. [Extracted from the article]
