Abstract

Two kinds of moisture-adsorption and heat-generating fibers of EKS fiber and Sunburner fiber were used to blend yarns with different components and different blending ratios, combined with viscose fiber, cotton fiber and acrylic fiber. The yarns were knitted into double ribbed fabrics using circular knitting machines. The thermal and moisture properties of fabrics were tested to explore the effect of fiber type and yarn blend ratio on the thermal and moisture properties of fabrics. The results show that under the standard test conditions, when the rest of the components and mass fraction of the yarn are the same, the moisture regain, air permeability, water-vapour transmission, wicking performance, thermal retention property, and heat generating by moisture absorption property of the fabric containing viscose fibers are better than that containing cotton fibers, while the fabric containing Sunburner fibers is better than that containing EKS fibers in moisture regain, wicking performance and thermal retention property, but lower in air permeability, water-vapour transmission and heat generating by moisture absorption property. The air permeability, water-vapour transmission and thermal retention property of the fabric increase with the decrease of EKS mass fraction in the fabric, while the wicking performance, heat generating by moisture absorption property of the fabric decrease.
