ProQuest Expands Factiva Agreements, Increases Content, Launches Database.

Abstract

This article announces that ProQuest Information and Learning has extended and expanded two agreements with Factiva. The company also announced that it will The Boston Globe to the ProQuest Historical Newspapers collection and that it will launch Latin American Newsstand. Under the expanded agreements with Factiva, ProQuest will continue to provide news and business information from Factiva to academic and public libraries worldwide. ProQuest will also continue to provide Factiva with newspaper and journal content for integration into Factiva products. In an existing agreement with New York Times Co., The Boston Globe's historical content from 1872 to 1922 will be added to the ProQuest Historical Newspapers collection. The resource will be available to academic institutions and libraries, primary and secondary schools, and government and corporate libraries. The database is expected to launch in March 2005. Latin American Newsstand is an electronic, full-text database with 30 newspapers, magazines, and wire services from 12 countries.
