Abstract

Event of micro plastics (plastic garbage <5 mm) along the coast is a developing concern around the world, because of expanded contribution of disposed of squanders from different sources. So as to assess the degree of micro plastic contamination on the sandy sea shores along Chennai coast, India, micro plastic flotsam and jetsam were evaluated and arranged into four distinctive size classes. The sea shores were ordered by possible wellsprings of contamination for example riverine, the travel industry and fisheries. Sea shore tests gathered from the elevated tide line contained fundamentally higher bounty of micro plastic than at the low tide line. Sea shores nearby streams showed moderately higher micro plastic wealth contrasted with those impacted by the travel industry and fishing exercises.
