Preparation of alkylamine acid ionic liquids and their application in catalytic synthesis of methyl oleate.

Abstract
- The 3-(N,N-dimethylbutylamine) propanesulfonic acid p-toluenesulfonate[DBPA][Tos], 3-(N,N-dimethyloctylamine) propanesulfonate p-toluenesulfonate[DOPA][Tos], 3-(N,N-dimethyldodecylamine) propanesulfonate p-toluene sulfonate[DDPA][Tos] ionic liquids are prepared for catalytic synthesis of methyl oleate. The structures of the three ionic liquids are characterized by FT-IR, TG-DTG analytical methods, and the catalytic performance of the ionic liquids in esterification is investigated. The results show that when the reaction temperature is 60 °C, the reaction time is 2 h, the molar ratio of alcohol to acid is 12:1, and the dosage of [DDPA][Tos] is 10 mmol, the conversion of oleic acid can reach 99.4%. The catalysts also have good catalytic activity and reusability. Alkane-based ionic liquids are efficient catalysts for industrial production of biodiesel. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
