Abstract
- The article discusses author Samuel Pegge. The Index of British Library Manuscripts lists several letters and other items by Samuel Pegge, most of them in his own hand. All other letter forms found in the annotations to the printed copy, including alternative forms where those exist, are identical with forms found in the manuscript autographs, and the general character of the hand is the same. Pegge was a curate and then a vicar in Kent from 1730 until 1751, when he was inducted into a rectory in his native Derbyshire.
