Abstract

This paper introduces a review of the layers used in surface plasmon resonance (SPR) with different types of optical fiber and different designs. Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) offers exceptional advantages, such as label-free, in-situ, and real-time measurement abilities that facilitate the study of molecular or chemical binding events that can be used as highly sensitive tools for biosensing. We found in a variety of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) optoelectronics devices, gold and silver are the most commonly employed metals, and adding a thin dielectric over layer with a relatively high RI has been used to enhance the sensitivity of SPR sensors.
