Abstract
- The article presents the discussion on practical consequences for adapting the societies to changing ice conditions. Topics include ice season in rivers, lakes, seas and oceans being sensitive to climate change due to the high homologous temperature; and thinner ice cover giving a shorter season of usable ice and a higher risk for ice breakage under load.
