Compact On-Body Antenna with Modified Ground for WiMAX and X-band Applications.

In this paper, two different bands operated on the body antenna are presented with a very small dimension of 22 × 26 × 1.6 mm³. The ground plane is modified and loaded with rectangular slots for getting the desired operating bands and for better matching. The proposed antenna is fabricated on FR-4 dielectric material, and it is operatable for WiMAX (3.3–3.6 GHz) as well as for X-band (8–12 GHz) with bandwidth efficiency of 41.8% and 40% respectively. The proposed antenna is successfully implemented on the body phantom justifying the optimal values of SAR for both operating bands of frequencies.
