Abstract

Digital Twin technology is an emerging concept that has quickly gained traction in both industry and academia. A digital twin is a virtual representation of a real-world object or system. It is used to evaluate performance, and inefficiencies and design solutions to improve the efficiency of its physical counterpart. The Digital Twin is described as the integration of data between a physical and virtual asset. It is nothing but a replica of the physical object, known as a logical object, which reflects all the major characteristics and properties of the original product. To model a digital twin for a physical object or process, it uses artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and other supporting technologies like cloud and analytics. The review of digital twins in the manufacturing, health, and industrial sectors is mainly represented in this paper. It also discusses the significance, characteristics, and fundamentals of creating a digital twin for any physical asset or process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
