Abstract
- This study determined the length-weight relationships of four fish species (Garra cambodgiensis (Tirant, 1883), Glyptothorax zanaensis Wu, He and Chu, 1981, Schistura nicholsi (Smith, 1933), and Schizothorax lissolabiatus Tsao, 1964) collected from the Lancang River (upper Mekong), China. The values of parameters a and b varied significantly. The a value and b value were 0.0087 and 3.3978 for G. cambodgiensis, 0.0125 and 3.0995 for G. zanaensis, 0.0265 and 2.7596 for S. nicholsi, and 0.0162 and 2.9736 for S. lissolabiatus, respectively. All the r<superscript>2</superscript> values for the LWRs of the four fish species were over 0.95, indicating a reliable data fitting. The new maximum standard length (38.471 cm) was recorded for S. lissolabiatus. The reported findings are valuable for future population dynamic prediction and conservation of these fishes under rapid environmental degradation in the Lancang River. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
