Abstract
- The article examines scholarly inquiry into works by American poets from 1900 to the 1950s. Topics discussed include the inclusion of works by lesser-known poets in the volume "African American Poetry: 250 Years of Struggle and Song," edited by Kevin Young and issued by the Library of America, and Ben Glaser's exploration of the resistance of New Critical writers to meter and paraphrase in his book "Modernism's Metronome: Meter and Twentieth-Century Poetic."
