Abstract

Objective: To compare the results of auditory assessment and speech recognition in the new cochlear implant assessment tool CLABOX with Direct Audio Input (DAI) with the sound booth. Methods: Fifty individuals with cochlear implants (CIs), 33 adults and 17 children, were included. Speech recognition tests were applied in noise, Ling sounds, and tone threshold in free field, in the sound booth and in CLABOX. Results: For speech recognition in noise, averages were better in the CLABOX; for pure tone threshold, they were higher in the CLABOX; and for Ling sounds, there was no significant change in the categories between sound booth and CLABOX. Conclusion: CLABOX was an effective tool to assess pure tone and speech recognition tests. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
