Abstract

This paper argues that the retort 'easy for you to say' is a complaint about the target's standing, but that it invokes a standing norm that is unjustified. Moreover, I argue that in many cases the person for whom it is 'easy to say' should speak. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
