After the establishment of the communist regime, culture was subordinated to politics. We cannot speak of an autonomy of aesthetics, since art, in all its aspects, is in the service of political power. The only current allowed: socialist realism. Literature became a means of propaganda, taking on an overwhelming role, namely that of educating in the spirit of realist-socialist doctrine.
