Abstract

Abnormal brain neurodevelopment may be suspected in the second or third trimester due to the presence of intracranial or extracranial findings. Neurosonography demonstrated asymmetry of the frontal horns of lateral ventricles, an apparently normal corpus callosum and a small and deviated CSP. On sonographic evaluation of the fetal brain in the first trimester ultrasound, the visualisation of a frontal fluid collection in the axial plane could be an early sonographic marker of abnormal brain development.
