Prospects for the development of digital economy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The paper examines topical issues concerning the digital economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The authors look at possibilities of using digital technology in the transport industry. Together with digital economy intelligent transport systems are also related to transport industry. The paper considers the current state of affairs and the prospects for development of railway transport and the role of «the locomotive of digital economy». It takes into account the presence of electronic data interchange of delivery notes (EDI-D) among the railways of neighboring countries. Meeting customer requirements for a uniform digital platform should enhance reliability and efficiency of all aspects of the transportation process. The paper examines the implementation of new information technologies, scheme of work of crossing borders. The electronic commercial platform «freight transportation» at National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy enables consignors to place orders for transportation on rolling stock belonging to different owners from anywhere in the world. Attracting private investment in carriages, the structure of export nodes stimulates the attraction of additional fleet.
