Abstract

Authors addressed the professionalization of holistic I student affairs i assessment (Chapter 5) and growing interest in establishing evidence-based pedagogies via I STEM i assessment (Chapter 6). It is within the final chapter that contributing authors and Institute partners then summarized meta-trends expected to emerge in higher education assessment over the next three to five years (Chapter 12). They began by addressing the extent to which higher education assessment practice has typically fallen short in producing evidence of I learning improvement i (Chapter 10); the authors suggested that professionals foreground improvement in the assessment process, rather than assuming improvement occurs as a natural by-product of that process.
