Abstract

We focus on the pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) report titled "Predictive factors for concomitant pulmonary arterial hypertension at diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus in a Chinese population" by Ying Pan et al.1 PAH is one of the major causes of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) related death,2,3 with many novel treatment strategies in recent years.4,5 Both early diagnosis and early intervention are considered to be crucial for improving the prognosis in these patients.6 This paper provides us with predictive factors of PAH in SLE patients, namely interstitial pneumonitis, myocardial damage and high immunoglobulin G,1 which can facilitate early detection and intervention of PAH.
