Abstract

This paper presents optimization of electricity bill using single-phase modified Impedance Source Inverter (ISI) with dual input sources for residential appliances. The proposed converter has dual DC input ports (Solar and Battery), connected with ISI. The main advantages of the dual input system, if any one of the input fails, the second input is connected and vice versa. Compared to the existing voltage source converters, the ISI has more advantageous by providing the continuous flow of inductor current, better power factor and single stage power conversion, which intern reduces the number of components and overall cost of the system. An optimized case study has discussed based on single bedroom in Bangalore city. In this, the smart hybrid controller device, which is used, for swapping the dual input based on the weather conditions, energy consumed by the load. This work uses renewable energy sources as one of the input due to its effectiveness of energy in a small group like home, parks, and offices. Energy consumption calculation based on appliances, PV design calculation, boost control method and switching schemes those are analyzed and the optimization based load demand are discussed.
