Abstract

The article presents a study, which explores the predictive validity of factors resulting from the analysis of mothers' reports of child-training practices with respect to behavior problems. The child rearing practice (CRP) factors were formed by weighted summation of the variables in the CR2 questionnaire employed and the behavior problem factors by weighted summation of the teacher rating variables employed separately as criteria. The child-rearing factor termed "low use of discipline" was positively related to the behavior problem factors of "hypertension," "paranoid tendencies," and "antisocial behavior."
