Abstract

The dynamics and instabilities of a droplet floating on the cooled liquid substrate are investigated. The problem is studied numerically in the framework of the slender droplet approximation. Stationary and oscillatory regimes of Marangoni convection are observed. The influence of spatial inhomogeneity and temporal modulation of temperature is investigated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
