Abstract

Coolidge almost talked herself out of "The White Lotus", even though her friend White had written the part for her. FEATURES In 2011, Jennifer Coolidge's agent came to her with an offer: A theater in London was putting on a production of the musical "Legally Blonde", based on the 2001 film in which Coolidge played the lovably dizzy manicurist Paulette. And casting Coolidge was White's choice to make. Coolidge cites a play she did in 2015 in the Boston area to be near her father, who died two days before opening night; White came, and wrote her agent a letter asking him to see the production.
