Abstract
- The present paper seeks to investigate the ominous meaning of the paragraph Exodus 4: 24-26, which seems to refer to an ancient religious ritual, apparently Midianite, pointing out the discrepancies that it presents in relation to the set of accounts of the Pentateuch referring to the figure of Moses. From there, he wonders about the Divinity, Zipora (as wife-priestess) and the role of circumcision within a kind of ritual marriage imposed by the bloodstain, which is both the ritual of begetting the Hero and the ritual containment of the fury of the Divine. There is also a review of other meanings that mark the "destiny" of Moses in relation to how it is presented in the Old Testament writings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
