Abstract
- Discusses the previously unreported allusion to the Shakespearean character, Sir John Falstaff, in a research conducted at the British Library. Connection of the allusion of Falstaff to Thomas Sutton, the richest commoner in the seventeenth century; Assumption on the probability that Sutton was the model for the title character of Ben Jonson's short story "Volpone"; Attack of Jonson on the character of Sutton.
