Abstract

The article explains why the interagency task force model is most appropriate in addressing the lack of regulation for sports gambling advertisements in the U.S. Topics discussed include parallel marketing histories of sports gambling and cigarettes, complexity of digital advertising for sports gambling, and jurisdiction and proposed responsibilities of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
