The synthesis of hydroxymethylenebisphosphonic- (dronic-) and acyl-ethoxycarbonyl-methylphosphonate derivatives.

Recent results on the synthesis of substituted hydroxymethylenebisphosphonic acids (A and B), as well as acylated ethoxycarbonyl-methylphosphonate derivatives (C and D) are summarized.
